Hello all!

It has been a while since I have posted a photo blog, but when I woke up this morning this idea came to me, and my heart was so full to share this thought with y’all. As a photographer I get to meet the most incredible people. When I get asked the question, "Michaela what is your favorite part about being a photographer?” My answer always sounds something like, “being able to work with You!”
Listening to your story while witnessing the beautiful writing on your heart as it unfolds makes me so thankful. You are so loved by our Creator.

With that said, I wanted to introduce, Niki!

She is a local Austin model, mom, teacher, wife & friend.
Niki and I have worked together for over a year now,
so I thought it was about time for a Q&A!

Q: When did you first become interested in modeling?
Picture
A: "I first became interested in modeling while attending Baylor University. I had a friend in the fashion design program there, and she asked me to walk in her end-of-term collection. I just went into it with the mind-set of, "Huh, this might be fun," and was blown away by the level of ingenuity, thought, and craftsmanship that goes into pulling off something like that."

Q: What does life look like outside the world of modeling?
A: "Outside of modeling, I'm a mama to my two daughters, Daisy, 5, and Clementine, 2.  My husband, Michel, launched his own online classic car company just a few months ago, and we are currently building a little log cabin, a la Laura Ingalls Wilder, in the Texas hill country. On the weekends, you can find us at one of Austin's many restaurants with an outdoor playground and seating, or our church, where I teach the preschool class.
So...a big departure from the "glamorous" world of modeling!"

Q: What is it like to be a professional model in Austin, TX?
A: "Being a professional model in Austin has definitely been interesting! It's such a stomping grounds for creatives and individuals unafraid to take their dream to the level of self-employment. The boutique and venue owners, photographers, artists, designers, and stylists I've met through modeling all truly love doing what they do."
